Blades Drop Game 6 in Overtime

Return Home for Game 7 Tuesday

Moose Jaw, SK

The Blades fell 4-3 in overtime in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final on Sunday afternoon in Moose Jaw.

With the loss, the Blades now trail the Warriors 3-2 in the series and will need to win Game 7 at home on Tuesday night to force a Game 8.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game," said Blades head coach Mitch Love. "They're a good team, and they played hard. We had our chances, but we just couldn't capitalize."

The Blades opened the scoring in the first period on a goal by Kyle Crnkovic, but the Warriors tied the game late in the period on a goal by Brayden Yager.

The Blades regained the lead in the second period on a goal by Egor Sidorov, but the Warriors tied the game again in the third period on a goal by Jagger Firkus.

The game went to overtime, and the Warriors won it on a goal by Josh Brook.

"We're going to have to come out and play our best game of the series on Tuesday," said Love. "We're going to need to be physical, and we're going to need to score some goals."

The Blades will host the Warriors in Game 7 on Tuesday night at SaskTel Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m.

The winner of the series will advance to the WHL Championship Series against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
